Solder doesn't sticks to Soldering Iron's tip.

The solder keeps falling off the Iron's tip. I can't even tin it properly because of this problem. I rubbed the iron's tip on sand paper so that the solder can't fall off, but then while soldering, the solder won't come off the Iron's tip. This is really frustrating as I spend an entire hour soldering just a few wires. Any solutions ?

You don't have enough surface area (on the tip) to which solder to stick. Also, you have destroyed your tip by brushing it with sandpaper. Buy a chisel shaped tip...

P.S. By keeping the solder on your iron tip, you will lose all of the flux (that smoke you see) , so soldering will be more difficult...

So what should I rub the tip with, to clean it properly ?
