I want "Windows 8 64 bit, less power consumption & games like GTA V" in my upgraded CPU.

My present CPU configuration:

  • Intel D101GGC Motherboard
    Intel Pentium 4 2.80 GHz
    1.5 GB DDR RAM
    ZEB-400W PLUS power supply
    Intel D34223-001 fan
NVIDIA GE FORCE 8400 GS 512MB
    Seagate 500 GB 7200.12 rpm SATA 6 GB/s

What are the things I need to buy? My budget is around 10-12k rupees/ $160-190

for that you need to change the whole build ... and budget is not sufficient..however you can use the HDD..
i would suggest you to sell this system..and atleast get 20 INR..for a decent build..

yup you can run win 8 on i3... with 4 gb ram..
but windows 8 is not best for gaming.. go for win 7..
plus incase you get the i3..then you should get a strong GPU..but keeping in mind that it wont bottleneck the cpu..
after all this..let me tell you you will not max out any next gen games (gta5 is one such example).. games which have been released recently or TBA are very demanding ,

Your graphics card is a budget graphics card at best and was not suitable for gaming when it was originally released. In addition, your CPU is several generations old.

You would need a complete rebuild to play newer games at an acceptable resolution and ok framerates. If you're budget strapped, you might want to look into the higher end APU's by AMD. Otherwise, you're going to need to save up a lot more money. For example, I recently built a system like this:

Sandy Bridge Pentium G860 (3.0 GHZ dual core)
4 GB of ram
Radeon HD7850 1GB
Motherboard and power supply

I got lucky with a bunch of rebates and sales, on top of reusing parts, so I got the above for under $350. That allowed me to comfortable game on most games at 1080P with low-medium details.
