SPAM-o-lanch? Have the floodgates opened?

Has there been an uptick in the amount of SPAM postings for cheap "insert product here" stuff?
To me, it seems that for a period of time, we saw very few of those postings. But lately, the non-sensical variety (seemingly random statements with embedded links) have been on the rise.
Any chance of filtering this stuff more effectively?

Anort has it right - Moderators do what we can to keep up with this stuff and we have some help from the Junk Detector the developers of the site update have made for us. However, we depend heavily on posters to hit the Report button and let us know there's a problem.
We get a lot of idiots posting on a pay-per-click basis and we try to get them before they get paid. If we succeed, that avenue might be blocked off. Those that hide their Spam links in articles cribbed from elsewhere on the net are easier to spot because the thread names look like the articles Tom's editorial staff put up.
We'll always react to a poster's complaint but with a global Forum and Mods from various countries in different time-zones, we may not seem to get there quickly enough but - we will get there.

Understood. It just seems that we are in the midst of a trend that I haven't seen in a while. Actually submitted one to the mods just a little while ago (cheap nfl jerseys).
BTW, I think the mods do a great job!!! Thanks for what you do for all of us!

Newsflash ... its cold and I am wearing my UGG Boots while typing this.
UGG Boots are the preferred moderator atire ... along with underpants on the outside of spandex pants and the trusty cape and airman goggles from the 40's ... no shirt as such.
MM wears his while riding his 2 litre Honda and mrface also carries a SCAR while riding his ATV.
I prefer driving my wife or the 4WD ... both are noisy, bumpy and expensive to maintain.
Carry on !!
