I was just bouncing between a few different processors for an htpc build. I was looking for a build that would obviously handle all of my video playback/recording needs as well as some decent gaming. Nothing too top of the line but if I wanted to play some SC2 or a FPS of some type I'd like to be able to do that at least on low settings.

Anyway, my search led me to the following two CPUs...

They are within my budget and seem like they should work fine for what I'm trying to do. However, the Haswell in this case seems to be all around superior but its the same price as the Ivy Bridge.

Am I missing something between these two processors? Also, anyone see an issue with either one of these processors and my intended use?

Thanks!

The Haswell would definitely be better for your intended use, faster, better iGPU (if you need it), and whole Watt lower TDP :)

EDIT: and a free scratcher ticket for some Intel givaway
