Sai zaw weik,

You didn’t specify which version of Windows XP you’re using. For the sake of explaining, I’ll touch first on Windows XP Home Edition first and then Windows XP Professional.

This Microsoft Support article explains in depth how to install and use the backup utility included with Windows XP Home Edition. The most important parts include installing and configuring the backup utility. There is also a short video at the end that can also help explain things better.

While Windows XP Professional offers more flexibility in the types of backup devices it supports and also security, some of the same backup features remain the same. These include the types of backups you can specify, such as Normal, Incremental and Differential. With that said, the backup utility in Windows XP Professional offers many more advanced options.

This Microsoft TechNet article covers more about using the backup utility in Windows XP Professional.

Hopefully this information is enough to get you started. If you have any other questions, feel free to ask.

One last thing worth mentioning is the Windows XP End of Support date which is coming up on April 8, 2014. If you meet the system requirements, it is strongly recommended that users make the move to a modern operating system such as Windows 7 or Windows 8 by then.
