Hi there! I have an old Samsung SyncMaster T260HD monitor and I wanted to upgrade to a decent LED monitor for gaming purposes. I play at 1920x1200 currently since it's a 16:10 screen, I wouldn't mind the 1080 difference.

My current budget is around 230-270€ and I've been looking at some 27" led monitors such as the Asus MX279H (which I've been told is not that decent for gaming), Acer S275HLbmii S Series or the Asus VE278H.

Last but not least, my current LCD display has a matte screen. I know glossy screens offer better colours and contrast at the expense of glare, but I'm having a lot of 'flat' colours on this display and I'm unsure whether it's because it's an old LCD display rather than a LED or if it's because of the matte screen.

Any help will be greatly appreciated! :)

Thanks!

My rig just in case you're wondering why I'm not going for a higher definition if I'm buying a 27 inch display:
i5 3570K @ 3.80GHz
Gigabyte GTX 670
Windows 7 Ultimate 64

This is the slightly newer, larger version of the monitor I use and absolutely love. As I'm not sure what site you would shop at, since you are giving prices in euros, so I will link to the site I know and if you like it, you can look it up wherever you shop. http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16824236302

Edit: If they use a direct currency conversion for international pricing it should be about 210€

I'm currently in Spain, I would be getting it from local shops or Amazon. Is there a big difference between the VE278Q and the VE278Q-P?

The -P version has a better contrast ratio and faster response time. Also, I would not worry about a matte screen, my VS248H-P has a matte screen and its got a fantastic picture.

Unfortunately I can't find the -P version of it, but the VS278Q looks like a great buy. Thanks for the matte tip! :)
