Lol yeah it will bottleneck. Quite a bit actually. The cpu is worse than a phenom II or i3. It would even bottleneck a 7870. My I3 bottlenecks my 7950 quite a bit and thats a better cpu with a lesser gpu. Normally I say dont worry about the bottleneck its not as bad as people make it out to be but in this case I would not buy a 7970 unless you plan to upgrade your cpu to an i5 or 8350.

i was going to upgrade to intel i5 4670k if i had enough money for it but if i did buy a intel i would buy a new computer pretty much.

K then I would suggest saving some money and getting a weaker gpu. I would say 7870 or 660 at most. 650ti boost would be a good pair imo. There isnt really much better of a cpu for fm2 socket.

would a intel i5 3570 and a hd 7850 or would a intel i5 4670k and a gtx 660 be better.
If you're in the USA then you could get a 6300 and 7950 for about that price. That would have the best performance with no upgrades. But if you went to upgrade it you'd need a new cpu and gpu so you'd be in the same boat. If you want to keep part of your hardware for more upgrades get an i5 and 660 and then later when you want more power get a better gpu. Or you could just get the really good gpu and get a better cpu and motherboard later. What games are you wanting to play on what settings and screen resolution? That could change everything
