download a sound card for windows xp free

Where can I download a sound card from? I cannot seem to find the answers I need about downloading a sound card. I don't have the installation cd's as this computer was given to us by my father in law.

You cannot download a sound card as it's a physical component. You can, however, download a driver for it.

Drivers can be obtained from the PC manufacturer's website, provided that the model is not too ancient as manufacturer's remove old drivers from their websites after some years to make room for new content.
