Hello all,

With TH forums help, I have upgraded my computer with new parts; Asus Z87-A board, i7-4770K CPU and 1050 Watt Seasonic PSU.

Well After doing all this, I want to upgrade my graph too while I can still sell my GTX570.

But I cant decide between Titan and GTX690. For gaming only purposes, which one should I choose? I am mostly playing MMOs, just FYI. (Currently Firefall, and waiting for ESO & Everquest Next.)

Thanks all in advance.

For gaming only purposes, the choice is between the 690, 780 or 770 SLI.

The Titan is not faster at gaming than the factory OC'ed 780's, and don't have as good of cooling options as the 780 so they don't OC as well either. The 780 is much cheaper as well. The 780 would be your best single GPU option.

The 690 is basically two underclocked 680 2Gb. This is an SLI solution that is rather expensive, but it is a single card and pretty cool and quiet.

The 770 SLI is the fastest setup, but like the 690, does come with SLI downsides, but unlike the 690, they are not downclocked and can be had with 4Gb for high resolution gaming. Two of these are cheaper than a 690 as well.

What is your resolution and refresh rate?

I am not using anything extreme. 1920 x 1080 is my resolution on 60 hz RR.

But uhm, if possible I want to go for single card but keep SLI option open for the future.

2 x GTX 690 for SLI has downsides?

A 690 is a single card that has two GPU's (downclocked 680 2Gb GPU's). 2x 690 is a quad-SLI solution. Quad-SLI has lots of downsides. Take the SLI downsides and multiply them many times over. Most games don't support 4-way SLI well, they are hot, loud and come with a lot more glitching.

For the price and for your lack of wanting SLI, but equally willing to spend $1000, I'd say go for the 780.

The best route at 1080p is going sli 760s better value for the money and which would get you around a gtx 780/titan performance vs going 1 780/titan for a higher price admission.. Also to throw out there i was running a gtx 770 on 1080p and i felt pretty solid
