Did I ruin my CPU?

I just recently bought a corsair H80i to liquid cool my cpu for temperature reasons and noise reasons. I cleaned the thermal paste off from the normal AMD FX 8350 heatsink. dried it off. Made sure no liquid touched anything. Then set everything up. Everything was working fine normally. But when I started BF3 I would get a bit of lag, dropping frames for about 1 second. This happened with about 5 second intervals inbetween. Assuming this was a driver issue I downgraded back to a reliable one where it drops frames less frequently and for only half a second. I think this might be because I ruined something and now its bottlenecking. Did I ruin anything?

its might be ur cpu is overheating or u got a bad unit
