I have an AMD A10-5800k and I've noticed that the temperatures get extremely high during gaming sessions. It is not overclocked at all and I am using the stock heatsink fan. It Idles at 40c-50c (usually on the higher end of that) and I think that that is high even. Its in a NZXT Source 210 case and I have one inhale and one exhaust fan. Do I need to reset the heatsink? I recently did this with some Ceramique 2 Thermal Compund but i thought the temps would be better.

Virtually all stock heatsinks for both Intel & AMD alike are pretty poor for constant heavy loads. If it will fit your case, I'd honestly recommend an aftermarket cooler (they can run up to 20-30c cooler) like the 212 EVO or a TX3 if it won't fit.

Are they really that bad though?

To be honest man, 75 degrees is pretty normal, if you exceed 100 then maybe you should consider an after market heatsink, but until then, don't worry.

Well that's a bit worrying, as most processors under full load reach at least 70.
