Sound messed up

I have a Dell 5+1 speaker system and a gigabyte motherboard running realtek sound. My speakers all worked fine. I updated the driver a couple of days ago and it has all gone wrong since then. Neither of the front speakers produce any sound, Rear left comes out of the centre speaker, rear right comes out of the sub woofer, Centre comes out of left rear and sub woofer out of right rear. It almost seems as if the front speakers are being ignored and everything has shifted 2 places. Any advice please.

Well, I would start with this:

1. Device Manager, locate your sound device.
2. Right-click, choose 'roll-back driver".
3 Restart, test your speakers again.

Sometimes a driver update can and does mess things up.
