I have an Alienware m11x r2 and was wondering if this ssd was compatible with it. I don't know anything about putting together a machine so I thought I'd get some advice.

If yes, is there another brand that would better suit the laptop? My budget is only about $100 please help!

hi,

install speccy and see if your current disk is connected throw sata ports(99% sure it is) if so its compatible. And for maximum performance search in your bios if u can find a option to activate AHCI or if its already activated.

iam owner of 2 ssd's a 840 pro 256gb for personal computer and 840 250gb for work computer and i can only say good thinks about then, and you get some more support and some "thinks" others brands lack a bit, that is some software to assist you and tweak, for migration you have samsung data migration, and to do some SO tweaks, updates, benchmarks and etc you have samsung driver magician.

i dare you to try and get amazed by the difference between your current hdd to that ssd :D
