i5-3550 or i7-2600k for photo editing in Lightroom?
Building a budget PC with leftover parts. Trying to decide which CPU to keep with a Z68x-ud3h motherboard and a Coolermaster Hyper T4 CPU cooler. I scored on a local Frys clearance deal - the 2600k is $45 more expensive. Main use is for photo editing and occasional video editing in Lightroom. I like that the 3550 uses less power. I wonder if Lightroom even uses Hyper-threading.
What do you think? 3550 or 2600k? Any comments are welcomed and please take the poll. Trying to get a crowd consensus on this one.
