Can I run 3 monitors with 2 4GB GTX 770s running in Sli?

I'm going to be gaming with 3 $150 run of the mill 23inch monitors each at 1980x1080. So I was asking if I could run 3 monitors with 2 Gigabyte (OC edition) 4GB GTX 770s.

I presume you meant 1920x1080, not 1980x1080. Yes, the frame rate will depend on the game and the rest of your system, of course. Because you will then be gaming at the very demanding 5760/1080 resolution.

I want to know if both card are used in Sli when running 3 monitors as on the nvidia website it says you can only use 2 monitors for Sli

I believe they mean only 2 heads per card. The 3rd would need to be connected to the 2nd card. Here is an article that may help. I can't speak from experience because I've never run surround with my 2 x GTX 660s.
