Epson printer SX110 won't print black.

Well there is the problem. My printer prints normaly every other color, actually every color that doesn't have black in it's composition. Every time i try to print just black or something dark that uses the black ink the printer in the first case will just make the usuall sounds and then give a completely blank page or will give the color i chose but lighter, which means that no black ink was used. Can someone please help cuz i am pretty confused.
