Hello guys. I'm planning to have a GPU upgrade, from 9500GT to 7790. Can my E5300 @ 2.6GHz processor and GA-G41M-ES2L handle it? Can I run the newest games this year smoothly? How bad will it bottleneck?

Even the HD 7790 will probably see some bottleneck from that processor. But I wouldn't expect it to be a game killer. Modern games will only run smoothly if your display resolution is low and some settings are reduced. What is the rez of you monitor?

Boy!! I am a terrible fan of the Assasin's Creed franchise. I think it should run just fine at that resolution. ACs are generally GPU taxing game so the HD 7790 should run them fine. It should also run the upcoming Assassins Creed Black Flags without any problems whatsoever. Whereas games like Crysis 3, Farcry 3 which are CPU heavy should take a hit. But CPU heavy games are pretty rare. So go for the upgrade..

Thank you! I'm a big fan of AC too. I'll try to run Crysis 3, and Far Cry 3 and hope that there's no major problems on playing these. ty

You don't have to try to run Crysis 3 and it's likes, it will run at that resolution with all settings maxed out.. Don't worry..
