With the SteamOS coming out soon, it will make the xbone and ps4 less appealing as those games can be played on pc with SteamOS and a gamepad.

With bundles, fun exclusives and good deals out for the wii u, should i just consider buying the wii u and use my pc for the upcoming steamOS? Because i like to have a console for casual play and social events, while keeping my hardcore games on pc

I've kind of thought the same thing. As a pc gamer I see absolutely no reason to buy a ps4 or xbone. All I use my ps3 for is netflix and it sucks at that. Hopefully I'll get in the steam machine beta, I can only hope.

At launch I personally think that most of the Xbox One and PS4 games that I liked were cross platform. Some will have considerable delays before being on the PC, but I didn't really see myself missing out on a whole lot if I waited on buying a PS4/XboxOne.

Meanwhile, the Wii U had a lot of stuff I liked. Being that I have a 6 year old daughter who uses my consoles as well, I thought she'd love Wind Waker HD (she recently really enjoyed Ocarina of Time for the 3DS). Mario Kart 8, Super Mario 3D World, and Smash Bros, will all be pretty fun for us too.
- My group of friends are pretty big fans of Smash Bros. It'll be nice to finally have a proper HD version of the game.

That's not bad at all for this year.

Then down the road Nintendo bought Monolith Soft, and will have an exclusive Xeno-series game. The trailer for this game looks great. Fire Emblem X SMT could be awesome, and a new Wii U Zelda is in development.

The value was there for me, so I bought one... and so far, we've had a lot of fun with the Wii U.

- As a side note, the Netflix app is actually pretty spiffy on it. It seems to navigate a bit better than the PS3/Xbox360 Netflix apps, thanks in part to the Gamepad's touch screen, and being able to switch your show onto the Gamepad instantly, is surprisingly convenient.

I don't know. I like mine.

So far I like it. It seems to be a little more responsive than the PS3 app, you can make selections and see useful information from the Wii U gamepad.... and you can switch the playback to the Wii U gamepad instantly.
- People have complained the Wii U's UI was slow in the past, but I haven't experienced it. Maybe because mine arrived with the latest version of the OS installed?

As for your PS3, I haven't had freezing issues on my PS3 since feeding it with a strong wifi signal from a wireless extender. What you're experiencing might suggest that the PS3's not getting a good WiFi connection....

My ps3 is about 5 feet from the router. My laptop is further away and always works fine. That ps3 has always had connection problems though. I get logged out constantly, this casues a lot of problems with Netflix, and then won't be able to log back in until I restart the console.
