Hello, I'am going to be building my first computer in the coming months ahead, (I expect the holiday season to drive prices down).

What I really need right now is an build that can handle college work and HEAVY video encoding and in the future, gaming. My 5 year old 1.6ghz AMD cpu simply cannot do the job at a satisfactory rate anymore and with 4k video on the horizon I simply need more horsepower.

Parts:
PCPartPicker part list / Price breakdown by merchant / Benchmarks

CPU: Intel Core i7-3770K 3.5GHz Quad-Core Processor ($319.99 @ Amazon)
Motherboard: ASRock Z77 Extreme4 ATX LGA1155 Motherboard ($114.99 @ Newegg)
Memory: Mushkin Blackline 8GB (2 x 4GB) DDR3-1600 Memory ($62.99 @ NCIX US)
Storage: Western Digital Caviar Blue 1TB 3.5" 7200RPM Internal Hard Drive ($63.99 @ Amazon)
Case: Rosewill BlackHawk ATX Mid Tower Case ($69.99 @ Amazon)
Power Supply: Corsair CX 750W 80 PLUS Bronze Certified ATX12V Power Supply ($95.99 @ Amazon)
Total: $727.94

I will eventually update the graphics at a future time, I'm looking at what AMD's R9 290X can do. Intel HD's 4000 is suitable, as I'm reusing my old 1366X768 vga monitor for this build.

So my questions are,
1)Do these parts fit in my case, I used prebuilt oem pcs all my life so don't really have 1st hand experience with an empty case.

2)PcPart picker states that the voltage of the RAM exceeds Intel's Maximum. This ram is rated at 1.65V compared to intel's 1.5V maximum will this have a real effect on my build?

3)How "hard" is it to overclock an intel cpu never overclocked anything in my life.

4) I intentionally priced this lower than my budget allows, Is there any parts I need to swap or add in? I prefer amazon (I have a prime subscription) over newegg but newegg is fine.

I included a CPU cooler so you can overclock your CPU. The RAM I chose is faster and only $2 more. The Corsair case is a much better quality case with great cooling and cable management. Your PSU was overkill unless you want to Crossfire/SLI and the one I selected is plenty of power for high overclocking and also Gold rated for better efficiency. the build total is only $3 less even with the CPU cooler.

Looks like you have a great start to a nice editing build. Good luck!
