how to rescue my photos from a hhd sata what without to open the windows

Hi!I have a Toshiba satellite laptop and I use the Tune up utilities program on my windows 7 One day I start the tune up and I do not late the program to finish 1 click maintenance program.I stop it on drive defrag about in the middle.After that my laptop stop working and I done a restart.Now the windows it dos not start anymore just a bit at the start and stack.Pease can anyone help me to rescue my pictures and videos fro the hhd .

you could try a Linux Live CD to boot from and see if you can access your files
