This is REALLY bugging me now, every time I try to open the 'System Protection' window I get the following unexpected error:

(0x81000203)

I have been on the Windows help forums and tried a few things that have been suggested but still getting the same error, see here: http://answers.microsoft.com/en-us/windows/forum/windows_7-system/system-restore-encountered-an-error-and-no-longer/8519336e-abb0-4aff-ad05-677741f6dbd0?tm=1379787746233

This is driving me mad now as I really want this function back :-(

Boot into Safe Mode by pressing F8 on start-up. Also if you have a Windows 7 disc, boot to that and go to the Windows Recovery environment and select it there.

Also, quick question, do you have PC tune-up installed or any programs like that?

Thanks but I've tried the Recovery thing, and it just says nothing needs repairing? I've also tried the restore thing through safe mode but still get the same error? And no I don't have any tuning programs installed.

I'd like to be able to create restore points before I make any significant changes etc and restore back to them if need be. I don't think I currently have any restore points as i'm pretty sure one of the guides I was given to try to fix the problem removed old restore points in case they were corrupt.

So I guess right now this minute, I just want to get it working.
