I'm guessing your truncated sentence should say "The drive makes a loud beep". This means the drive has failed and will have to be replaced. The data that's on it? -- well, what can I say. No backups? Very unwise.

If you've got deep pockets (very deep pockets) you can send the drive to a data recovery specialist. Recovery software that's available to download will not help at all.
