Hello, So im trying to revert my wife's laptop from Windows 7 64bit to XP 64bit
Im having some issues, once i boot from the XP cd it will load resources then it will Blue Screen... saying check for viruses, run checkdisk, ect...
I searched and found that i needed to change the HD to IDE mode(compatibility mode) in the BIOS setting. Once in the settings i find that the setting is not there, aka i cant change it from the BIOS screen.
I do some google searching on why i cant find the settings and i find --- http://www.bios-mods.com/forum/Thread-req-hp-g42-insyde-h20-f-29-rev-3-5
In a nutshell that forum post says my bios (Insyde F.29 Rv 3) is locked and im unable to change the HD settings in the bios.
The computer is a HP G42-415DX in which i found all the correct XP 64bit drivers for so i know the laptop can handle the older OS but im wondering about that i can do to get around this blue screen problem.
Thanks guys
