I cannot run Gigastudio on my new AMD Turion 64x2 laptop and Sonar does not "see" the US-122 sound card, while it prohibits the use of Soundmax as audio device in Sonar. Therefore I believe I should replace the AMD processor with Pentium 4, 3.2 GHZ which I know it is compatible with Gigastudio and Sonar. The question is whether I can do this on the existing motherboard, or should I replace that too.
Thank you all

No you cannot and it would be a bad idea even if you could. You would need a new laptop.
