Thoughts on steam bought games

Hello, I've been thinking, With all the games i've bought on steam, Is it possible to turn it from the steam installation, to a physical Dvd disc that will install the game like i bought it from somewhere? Beacuse, What happens when steam gets wiped (if it may happen), No more games? No more memorys?

Just a quick questions, Since, it would be great if it is possible.


(Not Wanting to pirate ANYTHING, just thinking ahead of time... Sorry if there is any misunderstanding)

I believe Steam keeps part of the downloaded game on their server. So there's no way I know of to copy a game to disk for archiving and have it be playable.

Kinda thought that too, but just wanted to make sure, Just another reason to buy the game from a game store... Then online... Thanks!

You can always download it again.

Also, you can backup your STEAM folder with the large game files that will easily reinstall with just the STEAM app being reinstalled to Windows.

If you buy a retail boxed game that requires Steam, you still end up with a game that won't play without Steam, though. For the same reason I mentioned above.
