What is the difrence between these two i3 processors.

I am building a mid level gaming pc and my last decision is between two same priced i3 processors. they are:

Intel Core i3-3220 Ivy Bridge 3.3GHz LGA 1155 55W Dual-Core-http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16819116775

Intel Core i3-3240 Ivy Bridge 3.4GHz LGA 1155 55W Dual-Core-http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16819116773

The i3-3220 actually costs 5$ less because of a promotion new egg has going on, but it was usually 20$ more than the 13-3240 even though its one Ghz lower.

They seem identical to me aside from the cheaper i3-3240 having one more ghz. If anyone could recommend what processor is better and why i would would be truly grateful for your response.

They are identical cpus except for that extra .1 GHz which is nearly meaningless here, that I would recommend whichever is cheaper. Which in this case happens to be the "better" one.

Thank you for the help I was hoping that was the case, now i can go ahead and order what i need to finish my build. Im still a little torn though, i have the money to upgrade to a i5 4670 but i really should save the $. Paired with my EVGA GTX 660 SC you think it would be good enough to play battle field 3 at least mid settings 30 frames per second or better.

It should be able to handle that no problem. the i5 would be alot nicer, but I had the same issue building my PC. I could have ordered an FX-8350 but had to stick with the now discontinued 965 quad core due to budget.

Not having unlimited $ sucks huh.
Thanks once again for the help it truly is appreciated. I think for now ill stick with the i3 and if i get the extra cash ill try and sell it and buy a 3570K later on.
