boot sector virus?

I just purchased a new Seagate barracuda from maplin, went to load windows but before I could go any further it said - warning boot sector virus continue yes or no... Need advice please

Was this a retail box, oem, refurb. or what?

Brand new, non refurb sealed from maplin..

I would be sure to delete any existing partitions before installing.
Deleting the partition will insure no boot sector virus survives thru windows install.
