Heyas,

As the title above suggests, I want to use a 7680x1440 resolution system ( 3 x ASUS PA279Q 27in AH-IPS Widescreen LED Monitor) to play a game here and there, but I would only play on one monitor.

How would this affect a graphics card like Titan(I'd like to ask based on R9 290X it's details aren't disclosed yet, however its called 'Titan Killer', so I guess its close to the titan).

How much performance would I save/gain from play ing on just 1 of the monitors than all three?
Or another way of saying it, if 1 Titan runs BF3 at x FPS with all 3 monitors, by playing on just 1 of the 3 monitors how much fps gain would be expected in this setup, while the other 2 are idle.

Thanks

With one 2560x1440 monitor you have 3686400 pixels, and with 3 2560x1440 monitors you have 11059200 pixels. The graphics card has to work ~3 times as hard. You will get roughly 3x the performance playing on one monitor vs the 3. The GPU is not split between the monitors in such a way that 33% goes to each monitor. If you have more action on the main screen then the card will be working harder on the main screen. Same goes with the RAM, it uses it where it is needed.
Um? 3X the resolution would have you run. At best. 1/3 the FPS. It's pretty simple math. If you ask them to do three times the work it will range then 3X longer. At a minimum. You could also hit memory limits etc

If you plan to do this you need AT LEAST 3 titans in SLI

Alright, I think your answer is a reverse of what I tried to ask, and if I flip it around, with your explanation, I would have 3 times the fps I would have when playing on one screen than try to play on three screens.

E.g. 3 screens = 30 fps, to 1 screen = ~90 fps, and the sides being idle would mean there not much GPUs power required and the GPU will provide 90% to the one active monitor and 5% to each idle monitor. It seems a bit too simple, is this logic correct? 90% and 5% are just to shed my thought of how it works in that situation. Also I thought when playing on 3 screens the power of the GPU is spilt three ways so 33.33% to each screen and 2gb each on 6gb VRAM.

Correct me where I am wrong, thanks!
