I recently jumped back into WoW, with the mindset I should be able to run at least high settings in populated areas. I'm currently getting framerates around a constant 20-30 fps with my video settings on Good. I have to drop all the way to fair just to get a constant 60. With the system I have, I think I should be getting better performance than that.

CPU: Pentium G860 3.0 GHz
Video Card: XFX HD 7850 2GB
Windows 7 Home Premium 64-bit

Not sure what other information is needed.

Could be due to the duo core cpu. And also your internet can cause an impact on high population areas. Is the FPS a solid 60 on max when alone? Stay out away from Goldshire for this test lol. Overpopulated and the trees will do your fps no good.

The system should be able to handle it. I ran 4.3 on Ultra in SW with like 45 fps. Even on the 'good' preset right now, at the Ironforge Airport I get 20-25 fps.

Try updating your drivers and closing any background apps you have going on, look in the system tray too. I haven't been on WoW in quite some time so I'm unsure how the graphics have changed, if they have at all.

They haven't changed much. It seems to me to be a problem with a recent patch. It seems like my system should still easily be able to handle at least the 'high' preset.
