I currently own a HP Envy notebook with a AMD Radion 7670M GPU. Recently, I have been using Adobe After Effects Raytracer 3D renderer, and all it's features. However, I have been experiencing slow 3D rendering and quite a bit of lag. I have 8GB of RAM and a quad-core i7 Intel Processor and am running Windows 8, but I think the graphics card is the main problem. My computer also experienced problems running Adobe SpeedGrade, which I presume is also the graphics card's fault.
So my question is: If I were to build a PC, how much of an improvement would an NVIDIA GeForce 660 be from an AMD Radion 7670M for 3D rendering? And if it the NVIDIA GeForce 660 wont suffice for working smoothly and quickly in Adobe After Effects, should I spend the extra money and get something a bit more expensive and maybe cut down on the other parts to save money and maybe upgrade them later)?
Thanks in advance.
