Hello guys. I recently built my own budgeted rig and these are the specs :

PSU : Corsair VS650
CPU : i5-4670k
Mobo : ASRock Z87 Pro3
RAM : G.Skill Ripjaws X 8GB(2x4gb) DDR3 1600 Kit

As you can see I dont have a GPU yet. I am here because I seek advice on whether to get a GPU now or wait for later though I spent all my savings on that computer so literally speaking, I'm BROKE. Haha.

The GPUs that I have my eyes upon are :

Radeon HD 7950
GTX 760
GTX 670
Up coming R9-270x and R9-280x

I think I need to wait for those so maybe the 7950 price will drop and also nvidias release in november will help me with the pricing thus making me reach the budget.

I need your professional advice. Thanks!

I see but I saw a 7950 vs 760 and the 760 trampled 7950 if not equaled it in games.

I thing the only resolution I will play is a 1080p and nothing more. Or maybe sometime a tri display.
My current display onlyhas 1280x1024 res. Haha

Since the 7950 is cheaper then the 760 and OC'ing it will give you better performance it is IMO a better buy, plus that extra VRAM will help you in the future when running higher resolution or even multiple monitors.

Well in that case, it's up to you. The 7950 OC will out perform the 760 in some cases but not all. If you just want a plug n play go for the 760.

Is it safe for me to overclock considering I live in a very humid country?
Also I dont have AC in my place so its sorta warm.

I can OC both right? What card can I power up even when OC and I want the one with lower temp. I dont want to be melting my system. Can my PSU handle OC?

Or lets see after november if they released newer cards Im very sure that those cards above will have a price drop. Right? But some of them dont.

I think that rig deserves a good GPU, there are some benefits on waiting just a little for new cards

so here are the prizes

AMD Radeon R7 250 -- 85 euros slower than (Radeon HD 7790) but faster than (Radeon HD 7770)
AMD Radeon R9 260X --139 euros
AMD Radeon R9 270X --199 euros faster than (Radeon HD 7950) and cheeper
AMD Radeon R9 280X --299 euros

Thank you so much. Would the r9 270x really be better and cheaper than 7950? If thats the case and ill get it. I looked at some articles and just read that its a crippled 7950. I only have a budget of around 199 euros (11,000php in my currency). I'll be watching the prices. I want to beat my friends gaming rig when it comes to gaming.

AMD is in the verge of releasing new R9 cards. Its worth Waiting, Nvidia will also decrease the price of their cards after a new release from AMD.

Yes that is a good decision. Nvidia may also release their Maxwell GPU in quarter one of 2014.
