Does AMD work well with Windows Server 2012 ?

Hello All. I am interested in running Windows Server 2012 Datacenter on a PC that I am going to use as a server. I am planning to build this PC soon but I am limited by a budget of 400 to 500 dollars. I was wondering, does Windows Server 2012 Datacenter run well on AMD Processors? If so which AMD processor do you all recommend? There are so many to choose from and I dont even know where to begin! Any and all guidance will be greatly appreciate!!

Yes, the FX line works well for a home server type setup. The FX 6300 would be about the minimum I would look at for such an application, you can find it for around $110-120 typically. The FX 8320 would serve even better, though it's about $150 typically.
