Hello everyone,
I have never messed with a pc for gaming, I always just played on my 360 but since the new consoles are coming out I looked at both and decided I'd rather look into build a gaming PC since I've read so much that one can be build for the price of a new console so what I have is a HP Pavilion media center m8100n tv pc, it's pretty old so I know it's probably going to need quite a few things but I would like my budget to be around $500-$600 since that's what a new console would cost me. I want to be able to play high end games like Battlefield 4, GTA 5, and other major games that will come out on the highest settings or at least close to that with a good frame rate. I don't know if this is possible since I don't know a lot about all this. Thanks for all help anyone can give.

Here's a link to HP's website that will give all the specs on the PC I have.

For low budget computers i would recommend the ASUS HD7770-2GD5 graphics card. I have bought 2 of these and they work flawlessly. Another thing that you wouldn't have to do but i would, is to get a quad-core AMD prossesor that runs at 3.8GHz. Is this for only gameplay or are you going to be recording as well?

I wouldnt recommend running a 7770 on a stock power supply from a HP. It would work with the power adapter, but I wouldnt recommend it without an upgrade.

Your computer is not too old, but would probably not perform that great in GTAV and BF4. It will meet minimum requirements.

You can part out the computer for the hard drive and use it in a new build.
