Did you just purchase it and installed it? It might be a faulty sound card. I have never had success with the Gigabyte motherboards.

It might had died. If it did die then you have 2 options. 1- get a new motherboard with a working sound card( I don't recommend) or 2- Purchase a separate sound card, they don't cost that much.

Would this still give the same quality sound as the motherboard gave? I am playing games and listening to a lot of things so i dont want to do much worse than what came with it.

It depends with your setup. Do you use a surround sound system, or a headset?
If you are using surround sound then it might cost more then a headset sound card.
This is what you would be looking at for a both solution.

Tho what I use in mine is a little bit more expensive

I can't give you a definite answer tho, I use my machine for music/video material. You don't need to spend a lot on a card for good quality. The first one that I suggested would probably be good for you. I am just giving you some examples.

Ok so it isn't the motherboard itself so tho the it might be possible that the motherboard might be dying. But that does tell me that it's a faulty sound card in the motherboard so I would suggest to get a separate sound. It would be your best bet.
