Comparing GPU's for 1440P performace~

Hey Everyone! I just wanted to get some feed back about the current GPU market from everyone:
I'm currently in the process of putting together a new PC and need to decide what GPU im going to get

Here are my contenders:
I could go with the new AMD R9 290x:
I could get 2-GTX770 in SLI
Or I could wait for the 780 to drop in price and get 2 of them~

So what do you guys think? Is there something im missing from the list??
Any help would be awesome

Go with the two 770's in SLI, since the new generation of AMD graphics card (generations 1 & 2) are probably going to have quiet a few bugs in them, just as most electronics do before they get them straightened out.
