I just recently came into possession of a Motorola Razr i. Windows is supposed to be hardware agnostic, especially with PC hardware running on Intel CPU's. Since all Intel-based smartphones use a standard x86 Intel Atom CPU, it should be technically possible to run Windows 8 on the smartphone right?

Yes you can.

Check out XDA Developers and let the journey begin.

I tried searching but couldn't really find anything. Do you happen to know a specific thread that already exists on XDA?

You need a fully unlocked bootloader and flashing utility.
From there you need to create a bootable MicroSD card with Windows 8 retail (NOT WINDOWS PHONE 8) on it.
Select the MicroSD as your boot option through bootloader, then begin the flashing process.

I know of multiple user who have done this on XDA.

There WILL be driver incompatibility, but just check the MOTOstore for solutions.

Good luck.
