Hey all,
I have a new ASUS M51AC that comes with a 350W power supply. I also purchased separately an EVGA Geforce 6600 GTX and a CoolerMaster 460 watt power supply.

I haven't installed the new GPU yet, I'm just trying to get the PSU working first. When I hooked up the new PSU, the green motherboard light comes on, and pressing the power button causes the fans to spin for a split second, then nothing. I put the original PSU back in and everything works fine.

I'm planning to return the PSU to Amazon and order a replacement, but I was wondering if there's anyway the PSU might be incompatible with the ASUS machine, or if there's some kind of multimeter test I can do on the PSU to confirm that it's busted.

Thanks!!

Appreciate it, thanks. That CoolerMaster power supply still looks like my best on Amazon, so I'm going to send the dud back and order another one. Hopefully better luck on the second go around!
