Hey all,
I have a new ASUS M51AC that comes with a 350W power supply. I also purchased separately an EVGA Geforce 6600 GTX and a CoolerMaster 460 watt power supply.
I haven't installed the new GPU yet, I'm just trying to get the PSU working first. When I hooked up the new PSU, the green motherboard light comes on, and pressing the power button causes the fans to spin for a split second, then nothing. I put the original PSU back in and everything works fine.
I'm planning to return the PSU to Amazon and order a replacement, but I was wondering if there's anyway the PSU might be incompatible with the ASUS machine, or if there's some kind of multimeter test I can do on the PSU to confirm that it's busted.
Thanks!!
