my far cry 3 stops after sometime while in the middle of gameplay

i start my far cry3. it loads and and the gameplay starts. but after sometime, the window closes and returns back to my homescreen. what should i do?

Does it crash with any error message or just skip straight to desktop? Is the game still running at all?
