SSD for main OS, can i use a caviar black 1tb without losing any gaming performance etc fps

I currently have just updated my PC parts, which i have Windows 8 Pro 64 bit installed on one of my Samsung 840 Pro 512GB. i also have a spare SSD which is the same size and model as my main OS SSD, but also have a brand new Caviar Black 1TB.

If i was to install my games onto the Caviar (since storage is twice as much as one SSD) would it effect the gaming performance ie fps etc.. since a HDD is not as fast as a HDD.

Many thanks in advanced

Here are my system specs:
Cooler Master Storm Trooper
Asus Rampage IV Extreme
Intel 2011 3930K @ 3.2Ghz
Corsair Platinum 16GB DDR3 @2400Mhz CL9
Asus Nvidia GTX 690
Corsair TX850 PSU
2 x Samsung 840 Pro 512GB SSD

Windows 8 Pro 64 bit

  1. No, it won´t have any effect on your FPS. However, level load times will increase slightly compared to the SSD.

My advic would be: Use one SSD for OS, the other SSD for games and programs etc and the HDD as a pure storage device.
  2. But the thing is that with all the new games coming out like BF4 it requires 30GB of space, so my 512Gb SSD wont be long before it is used up
  3. That is true. Even so, assuming every game uses 30GB, you can easily fit 15 games on your SSD before it runs out.
I don´t know about your gaming behaviour but for me that would be more than enough.
