Hi all,
I am thinking of buying a new CPU and am looking in to second hand ones. Everyone says there is a risk of buying a second had CPU, I can see it may not work but what else could have possibly gone wrong?
I've had mine for almost 2 years and it performs perfectly, like new. What could be wrong with an older CPU?
Thanks,
Jake

ahh right ok, thanks bro :)

also, if you are buying second hand, there is also a chance that the person who had it might have damaged it with static electricity, or bent the pins etc...

if you can try before you buy that would be best. if you buy online (say on ebay) check the seller's feedback, if there isn't much on computer parts there (say they sell a lot of video games but you don't see anything for computer parts) that would be a bit of a red flag for me. Only buy from reputable sellers and always ask questions about the cpu's condition.
