USB Ports Malfunctioned... PLEASE HELP !

Hi Everyone

My USB ports stopped reading while I was watching a movie through an external harddrive.
The light under my mouse stays on until it passes the bios screen. After bios screen it switches off.

*I re-installed windows.
* I flashed the bios.

Still no luck. When I plug in any usb device windows makes the noise but it says usb port malfunctioned.

Im using windows 8
ASRock Penryn 1600 motherboard
6 gig ram
Core 2 Quad q8200

Please Help

No, it happened before. I tried re-installing windows to see if problem goes. But it didnt.

It might be a controller issue. If a PCI slot available, you can try installing a PCI based USB controller.
If the board has two USB controllers, test other USB ports too.

Tried all ports. I think my best option is to get a pci based USB card.

Ended up getting a new Mobo.
