Hi guys, I currently have a 1GB 7850 and I would like to upgrade it. My motherboard supports a 16X PCI Express slot and a 4X PCI Express Slot. Would another 1GB 7850 on my motherboard be better than a single 7950?

Thanks, sorry about mistakes if I made any.

Depends on your resolution. The crossfire will be more powerful but the 7950 has 3gb of vram (crossfire will only be one). Therefore at higher resolutions 1080p+ the 7950 will outperform the 7850's.

Bottom line: 7950 is the better choice, plus it's quite an upgrade from a single 7850.

My monitor is 1080p

Then definitely get the 7950 (7850's 1gb will give massive frame drops at 1080p+).

agreed. I used to have crossfire 6850's and once the 1gb vram limit is cracked, forget micro-stutter, you then get mega-stutter.
