I am looking to:
Run high graphics games at high qualty, 1080P resolution, Multiple monitors, I also do youtube so need a good enough card to render videos what wont take me all day.

Prefer nvidia as I have terrible luck with AMD cards.

My dad has the GeForce 660 which runs everygame out to date ( not sure how long this will last ) he has offered to give me his card when he gets an upgrade at christmas....

However by christmas time I have a budget off £100-£300 and I just feel I can get a better card which will last me a few more years and play at the highest quality. I do have a I7 and 8 GB Ram so my PC should be powerful enough.

Its only my graphics card what ever lets me down I am willing to listen to AMD cards and will check them out I just prefer Nvidia.

AMD is the better company for multiple monitors IMO. Both have their share of hiccups but I reckon AMD is more successful in this area.

Here's an AMD card in the middle of your budget range: http://www.amazon.com/Sapphire-DL-DVI-I-SL-DVI-D-PCI-Express-11197-03-40G/dp/B009B6Y01Y/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1381071589&sr=8-1&keywords=7970

So if you want to max out your budget for AMD, better to wait for either R9 280X or R9 290X. Sounds like you won't be upgrading in a LONG while.

For nVidia any GTX 770 would come closer to the higher end of your budget and would do the same job.
