I'm having a hard time understanding ram speeds, mainly the cas latency (7,9, etc) and speed (1600,1866, etc)

I'm looking to buy ram 16gb, I use my computer mainly for gaming. I am trying to decide between these 2 kits, but I am not sure which is better.

Could you tell me which is better and why? Or if there is a better kit for about the same price.

The 2400 are the better performance wise....as freq increases so does bandwidth, from a purely performance level, speed and CL combined (lower CL (CAS Latency) is better, determines how long to complete an action....You can generally look at a set of sticks and then compare by taking both CL and freq a step at a time, each step is a slight gain....i.e. if you take the 1600/9 set and step it up, it would go

1600/9 1866/10 2133/11 2400/12 with each step add a bit of performance and bandwidth, so the 2400/11 would be a larger increase - (and the 2400/11 set is a great one, might also consider the 2400/10 GSkill Tridents, which are even better, have those in my IB build
