FX-6300 vs i5-4570 [updated]

I recently made a thread asking which CPU would be better -the FX-6300 or the i5-4570- I was told the FX would be better if I planned on overclocking it and if I'm not into OC'ing then go with intel. But that only gave me more questions to ask; If I go with the 6300/8320 I would be able to get a better 990FX motherboard, seeing as I'm getting an OEM version of windows 7 I would like to get a more solid MB so that I won't need to upgrade it for awhile. Whereas if I go with the 4570 I would have to get a cheaper MB -which as I stated above I'm getting an OEM, so I'm not really comfortable with getting a "cheap" motherboard.
If I go with the FX chip then the total component cost would be around $400 (including aftermarket CPU cooler and tower) but with the i5 I would reach $400 before I even get the case and atleast a one extra case fan.

So I'm wondering if it's worth it to go with the cheaper CPU and a better all around system (I already have a 2tb 7200rpm HDD, DVD drive, 600w PS and Radeon HD 7870 GHz) and then OC the hell out of it, which I will be able to do with the cooler. Or go with the i5 while skimping on the MB and possibly limiting my upgrade options for the future.

I was told that a decently clocked 6300 is just as good as an i5-3570k (not sure about that) but if that's the case then I'll probably go with that. Or is the Intel just so much more worth it?

I'll mainly be playing games, my expectations for graphics aren't that high, so I'm thinking Far Cry 3 medium/high is all I'll do (unless it can handle better), BF4 when it comes out, minecraft (CPU dependent, I don't get a stable FPS which makes it almost unplayable) and then Arma3 when it goes on sale.
My budget is around $450, I know there is allot that can be done with that, but I'm just trying to get the most knowledge possible of what I'm spending my money on.
Every 4th generation Intel motherboard that I see is well over $150, whereas most of the decent enough 990FX boards are $100-150, so there's a definite price difference there, not to mention the processors themselves, $100 difference between the 6300 and the 4570.
Cheaper CPU will allow me to get a better MB, tower, more fans, better CPU cooler.
More expensive CPU will allow me to sit comfortably with my performance (out of the box) for the next year or so without needing to OC, but will also limit my upgrade options when the time comes.

Also, if I go with the FX I'm not afraid to overclock if necessary seeing as with the FX I'll get a CPU cooler.

i5-4670 is a lot better then any fx cpu
but if you are stick with fx cpu.. get at least a fx-6350 cpu
what is the model of your hd 7870?
if you want to overclock .. so just take the i5-4670K instead .. is built for that

I have a Sapphire Radeon HD 7870 GHz Edition. And I'm talking about the i5-4570, not the 4670.

''I have a Sapphire Radeon HD 7870 GHz Edition''
very good gpu
''And I'm talking about the i5-4570, not the 4670''

it doesnt make any difference here

No it doesn't but it is cheaper, fits in my budget more. And the 6350 is $30 more than the 6300 (currently) and the only difference that I can see is that it has a higher base/turbo frequency and it's 125w as opposed to 95w. The $30 difference will allow me to buy an aftermarket cooler and clock the 6300 as high/higher than the 6350 and be better off with it because of the cooler. Am I wrong?

so why you asked this question...FX-6300 vs i5-4570 [updated]... if you already know the answer???

Because I don't know if it's worth it to spend more money and not overclock but get cheaper components, if it makes a difference. Or if it's more worth it to get less expensive components and just overclock. I can't find anything online comparing the two (OC'ed 6300 vs 4570) so I thought I would ask here.
Also I wanted to know if a $100 motherboard will be the same as a $150 motherboard, cheaper MB with more expensive CPU or $120 MB with a less expensive CPU and just overclock it. I either can't understand the technical things on the benchmark websites or they don't have any comparison for the two that I could legitimately be use.
I know the 990FX motherboards work better with newer FX CPU's, but they're more expensive than a 970FX board, is there a noticeable difference?
I already have two plans for my build, I just need an opinion on which one is better from people who understand this stuff better than I do.

Okay, thank you :) Do you have any suggestions for motherboards? Because I'm thinking an AM3/AM3+ board with all the bells and whistles for $140, and an Intel LGA 1155 for $90 that doesn't really have anything special. I don't personally see any need for USB 3.0, so I don't need those, although I would like more than one PCI express slot so that in the future I can crossfire.
I'm really not sure about the motherboards though, it says that customers frequently bought an i5-4670 with a Z77 socket board but someone told me that 4th gen i5's don't use the Z77 socket. Any advice?

I just realized, with the next gen consoles having 8 core CPU's won't most games take advantage of all 8 or atleast more than 4? Just a thought, correct me if I'm wrong.

i5 cpu perform a lot better then fx cpu even with less cores

So here is what I'm thinking of:
http://www.amazon.com/Asus-Z87--DDR3-1600-Motherboard/dp/B00CRJSV9O/ref=sr_1_1?s=electronics&ie=UTF8&qid=1381115830&sr=1-1&keywords=ASUS+Z87-A+LGA+1150
http://www.amazon.com/Intel-i5-4670K-Quad-Core-Desktop-Processor/dp/B00CO8TBOW/ref=sr_1_1?s=electronics&ie=UTF8&qid=1381115868&sr=1-1&keywords=i5-4570k
http://www.amazon.com/Windows-Premium-64bit-System-Builder/dp/B004Q0PT3I/ref=sr_1_2?s=electronics&ie=UTF8&qid=1378867710&sr=1-2&keywords=windows+7
http://www.amazon.com/Thermaltake-Black-VL80001W2Z-Tower-Gaming/dp/B002Q2M8KK/ref=sr_1_2?s=electronics&ie=UTF8&qid=1381031539&sr=1-2

Coming to a total price of $488.97 (not including an aftermarket cooler) Does this look like a decent Intel build? Like I said above I already have all of the other components, will the 7870 that I have bottleneck/be bottlenecked by the CPU? Even though I highly doubt that it will, I still figure I should ask.
Thanks for your help :)

yes! go for it.. i suggest to add an aftermarket cpu cooler... never use the stock one

Thanks :) And I planned on using a cooler, I've heard nightmares about the CPU melting a hole in the motherboard or it catching on fire, so yeah a cooler is definitely needed. Thanks for your help :)
