disk data transfer is too slow

Hi there, i recently built a new pc, my pc configuration are
i3 3210
dynet 8 gb ram (2 sticks of 4 gb 1333mhz)
Zotac 2gb gt 610 synergy edition
1 tb wd sata hdd
every thing goes all right at starting now my disk data transfer speed is too low its not increasing above 2mbps
please any solution i dont think of a virus because i have no internet connection in pc and i didn't install any data from other computer, before some days i upgraded my graphics card(written above) and second thing i don't even getting high performance for games as 8gb ram and i3 should give me plz help me......hope I'll get my answer soon

What are you using to measure your disk data transfer speeds?

thanks for solution of my video card, but why i am not getting a better data transfer speed as i said before whenever i copying data form my disk its only giving me maximum 3 mbps speed(i can see my data transfer speed at that data copying dialog box) should i replace my SATA cable or
there's another problem.

copy speeds vary depending on the files, very large files transfer much faster then thousands of very small files.

Run a drive benchmarking program and post your results.
