Hey guys so as the title says...

When I overclock my cpu to anything higher than 3.7ghz aero disables for no reason now I know some will say its unstable maybe .. my cpu is the fx 8320 highest frequency can be 6.2ghz (obviously not going to go anywhere near it but I would like to get to 4.2 or 4.4 )

I have also tried with turbo core enabled and disabled .. there no difference still the same

Added note: whenever I do oc and just accept that aeros disabled my fps from my gfx cards goes to like 0-30 on bf3 when normally id get 120fps (map:metro) so if you could help there aswell starting to think overclocking is a no no lol

system spec:
Amd FX 8320 3.5ghz (turbo core 4.0ghz)
ASRock Extreme3 970 R2.0
2 x Sapphire HD 7850 2GB OCz 920/1250Mhz
Corsair Vengence 8GB DDR3 1600Mhz
240gb Kingston HyperX SSD
2TB Western Digital
Corsair H80i Liquid Cooling
HAF X Cooler Master full tower
21.5 1920x1080 AOC 75Hz Monitor

Thanks for any help folks

ok I will and get back to you

what board would you suggest becaise my board also only support pcie 2.0 x16 x4 on the crossfire so I kinda wanna bump that to 3.0 x16 x16

well amd doesnt support pci-e 3.0 on am3+ other than the sabertooth r2 gen3 which was limited edition, but at the momment 3.0 isnt needed as 2.0 doesnt reach its limit for bandwidth. U want crossfire x16, so both cards running at x16?

thats just the R2, u need the gen3 board that was limited edition so might be hard to find, http://www.tomshardware.com/news/SABERTOOTH-990FX-GEN3-ASUS-Motherboard,21140.html is what it looks like etc.

Edit: when u overclock see if windows turned off the aero feature - http://www.pcmag.com/slideshow_viewer/0,3253,l=251692&a=251692&po=12,00.asp

Also the overclock may be causing aerot to turn off, seen other posts about the problem, did u get a message saying windows can improve performance by disabling aero? i get that alot and my system has more than enough power to run aero even under load lol.

Read this thread some decent ideas - http://www.overclock.net/t/397806/aero-keeps-turning-off
