installing vista when battery died and now PC wont boot

My laptop completely messed up the other weak and i had to re install Windows Vista via a disc. Half way through installing my battery died and now when i boot the laptop all i see is a Vista background and nothing else. how can i continue to install Vista?

You need to start again. You should not do any major software overhaul on battery power, always connected to mains.

Just plug in the ac, pop in the vista disk, boot from cd/dvd and start the install again

Tried and all I get is a vista screen with nothing else and it doesn't do anything.

Are you sure that the computer is booting from the cd rather than trying to load the unfinished install from the HD. Does a dialouge "Boot from CD y/n...." appear after you switch on the computer with the vista cd already in the drive?
