I've been an Intel fan for a long time and since my old rig is way outdated (1st Gen intel i5 and a GT 230 :'(. ) So basicly it's time for a new rig and some changes. I'm going to try AMD as I heard they are cheap and easily overclocked.

Here is daily usage of computers which I usually use for games (Dota 2, TF2, CoD, BF3, Minecraft and perhaps new gen games later this year)

So yeah, games, Skype, and browsing. I don't do video recording or rendering. Since I'm been following Intel for years I have no idea about AMD's or even Radeon GPU.

Budget : $1000 could go more if it's worth it. I live in Malaysia so prices hike up here.

And yeah 16GB RAM please. Thanks in advance.

please find yourself these similar items in your local store :)
using AMD is usually less expensive, there is no point to spend anywhere near $1000

Is the FX-6300 perfect for my usual lifestyle? Plus 7870 powerful enough? Sorry with all this questions, as it's been along time since I build my own rig.

Yeap, our tax here is kinda outrageous but atleast our oil is cheap.

PS: If I planned to overclock, do I need to get another cooler, or use the one suggested above ^^
