Both Drives on my RAID box suddenly dead

Hi,

I woke up this morning and my raid on my external DNS-320 device was no longer detecting the drives (both of them). I've tried removing both drives and putting them in a desktop and the bios will not detect either of them. (They are Seagate Barracuda ST2000DM001

Do I have any options in trying to recover my 2 TB of data off of these drives? The DNS 320 never once indicated that a drive was failed before.

which raid type were they in? 0 or 1 ?

They were raid 1

Excellent.
Only work with 1 drive, save the other one in case you need to send it out for data recovery. Do you feel the drive spin up when its powered on?

They both spin up when powered on. I tried putting them in a second desktop just in case something funny with the first, but both drives won't get detected in the bios still

I read about a common Seagate issue where the drives busy out and can no longer be detected by the system, even though the data is all fine and there. I'm thinking this must have happened. I've ordered the kit from hdd-parts.com to see if that is the case.
